On a typical 150-foot single-story roofline, permanent costs less in total than seasonal by about the fifth or sixth year, even with seasonal prices held flat. Many customers do both: permanent on the house, seasonal on the trees.

The lights run on 24 volts, not the 120 volts in plug-in holiday strings, with no extension cords across the lawn or strings tucked into dry gutters.

A permanent system carries a seven-year manufacturer warranty on its components. That warranty will replace a failed part for free. It will not work out which part failed, get up on your roof in February, and swap it. That is what a plan is for.
