How to prepare for your visit

Before every visit (all services)

These apply to every job. Have the property ready 4 to 6 hours before your appointment: crews run ahead of schedule and may arrive early.

• Leave two car lengths of parking for the work truck, in the driveway or directly on the street in front of the home. All equipment is mounted on a truck, and the hoses pull from it, so we cannot work from down the block or across the street.
• Have a working outdoor spigot on and reachable, with steady pressure of at least 30 PSI. It must be a direct line, not a faucet. Tell us a week ahead if you are on a well, a filter, or a water meter, and do not run water inside during the visit so we do not lose pressure.
• Shut all windows and doors tightly. A small amount of water can find its way through door cracks and open windows.
• Turn off exterior outlets and fixtures at the breaker unless they have outdoor covers, unplug cords in outside outlets, and close the covers snugly.
• Unlock every gate and move furniture, planters, and other obstructions away from the work area. We can move furniture for you at an additional cost. Please request it before the day of service so we can plan for it.
• Keep pets inside for the whole visit, and pick up pet waste in the yard before we arrive.
• Give WindowWorks sole access to the property that day. We cannot work around other contractors, and arriving to find them on site counts as a cancellation.
• Be reachable by text during your appointment. We photograph and report any pre-existing damage before we start, and we need your acknowledgement of that report (a text or email reply, or a recorded verbal okay) before we can finish the work.
• Tell us in advance about any surface on or near the home that should not touch our cleaning solution, and bring any other questions to us at least three days ahead.
• Read our Terms & Conditions so expectations are clear on both sides.

Window cleaning

• Clear off window sills and move furniture back from the windows so we can reach the glass safely, inside and out.
• Leave a clear path around the outside of the house.

We remove screens to clean the exterior glass, and screen cleaning is included with every window cleaning package. Deep screen cleaning and screen rebuilding are add-ons. Old, brittle, or oversized screens can be damaged during removal; we will alert you if we see that, and a heads-up beforehand helps us prepare.

Pressure washing (driveways, patios, walkways)

• Move cars, grills, planters, mats, and furniture off the surface being cleaned.
• Cover any outlet in the wash area that does not already have a cover, and shut off power to that area at the breaker.

House wash (siding)

• Move cars, flags, edible plants, and anything else you do not want getting wet away from the house.
• Point out any siding you know is loose, cracked, or previously damaged, so we can note it before we start.

Roof wash

• Move cars, flags, edible plants, and anything you do not want getting wet away from the house.
• Expect the crew on the roof and around every downspout: leave the whole perimeter clear.

After the wash, give it 4 to 6 weeks. Rain and wind carry off the dead growth on their own.

Dryer vent cleaning

• Clear the laundry room of clothes, baskets, and anything on top of or around the dryer.
• Leave a clear space in front of and beside the dryer so we can pull it out and reach the vent connection on the back.
• Leave a clear path from the door to the laundry room for our equipment.
• Make sure we can reach the outside vent cover: unlock gates, and move anything stacked against that wall.
