Paver Cleaning & Restoration in Issaquah

Paver Cleaning in Issaquah, WA

Conifer needles start most paver problems in Issaquah. The bowl formed by Tiger, Squak, and Cougar Mountains keeps patios shaded and damp, needles collect in the joints, and moss follows. Left alone, the roots work the jointing sand loose and the pavers begin to move.

The pattern holds from newer patios in the Issaquah Highlands and Talus to older walkways around Olde Town and up Squak Mountain. Needles hold moisture in the joints, and by the time anything looks green, sand is already being lost.

We carry two options and tell you honestly which one your surface needs. A chlorine wash once or twice a year kills the growth while the sand is still in place. If moss and grass have already taken the joints, we clear them, re-sand in house, and put you on the schedule so it stays fixed.

Issaquah questions

Why does moss in the joints matter more than moss on the surface?
Surface growth is ugly, but joint growth is structural. The roots displace the jointing sand, and without the sand the pavers shift and rock. The wash kills it in the joints before that stage.
Is once a year enough in a town this shaded?
Often, no. Annual visits hold most surfaces, but shaded and fast-growth areas run twice a year, and Issaquah has plenty of both. We look at your surface and give you a straight answer.

Before and after

The difference, on real jobs.

  • Before and after WindowWorks deep cleaning the moss-filled joints of a paver landing below block steps on the Eastside
Moss had taken the joints of this landing below the steps. Cleared, treated, and clean.
  • Before and after WindowWorks clearing moss and debris from the joints of a paver walkway on the Eastside
The walkway run on the same visit. Green joints and debris out, the field back to even color.

Why it matters

The problem this solves.

Moss and grass root into the joints, displace the jointing sand, and the pavers shift and rock underfoot. Spores establish before you can see them, so a surface that looks clean is growing tomorrow's problem.

How we do it

Our approach.

Two options, both performed in house, and we tell you honestly which one your surface needs. Neither resets, relevels, or replaces pavers that have already shifted. We prep for sealing but refer sealing itself to a specialist.

  • Honest read on which option you need
  • Chlorine treatment kills growth before sand loss
  • Joints pressure washed only with full re-sand

Two services, one honest read

Which one do your pavers need?

Both are our own crews, and we tell you straight which one your surface needs. The joints decide. If the sand is still in them, the wash keeps it there. If grass and moss have taken over, the sand is already gone and washing alone will not fix it.

  • A paver walkway after a WindowWorks wash, the jointing sand intact and the surface clean between trimmed hedges

    Paver Maintenance Wash

The preventative option. A chlorine treatment once or twice a year kills the organics in the joints, then a light rinse. No blasting, so the sand stays packed where the installer left it and the surface stays clean year round.

It runs even when the pavers look clean, because spores establish before you can see them. Annual for most surfaces, twice a year for shaded or fast-growth areas, scheduled automatically so you never think about it.

  • Moss and grass filling the joints of a paver landing, the jointing sand already displaced by the growth

    Deep Clean & Re-Sand

The corrective option. When grass and moss fill the cracks like this, the sand is already displaced. We pressure wash the joints clear of the entrenched growth, treat the surface with chlorine, and re-sand the whole field with our own crew.

Then we recommend the maintenance plan, so you never pay for this project twice.

Why the schedule

What the joints do without it.

Paver problems are not cosmetic, they are structural. The jointing sand is what holds the field level, and the growth is what takes the sand.

Maintenance costs a fraction of repair.

A re-sand is a real project: joints washed out, surface treated, new sand worked in. The wash that prevents it is a quick visit once or twice a year, at a fraction of a re-sand's cost.

Every technician is background-checked before they ever step onto a customer's property.

  • Certified, skill by skill

Our crews earn certification across 369 individual skills in 10 categories, each one signed off by an evaluator, never just by clocking time.

  • Paid like professionals

A living wage, healthcare, and dental. People who are treated well do careful work, and they stay, so you see the same faces.

  • Licensed, bonded, and insured

With OSHA-aligned safety training for the at-height work. If someone is on your roof, they are trained and covered for exactly that.

  • Method matched to the surface

Soft wash where pressure would damage, hot water where cold cannot lift, the right chemistry for the stain. The method follows the surface, not the other way around.

  • Documented before and after

Every job is photographed before and after, so you can see exactly what changed and keep it on file.

Common questions

Good to know.

My pavers look clean. Why get on a schedule?

Spores establish before you can see them, and visible growth is already displacing sand. A quick wash once or twice a year kills it first, at a fraction of a re-sand project's cost.

What's the difference between the wash and the re-sand?

The wash is prevention: it kills joint growth while leaving your sand in place. The re-sand is correction for depleted joints; not sure which you need, send photos and we'll tell you straight.

Will pressure washing blast out my joint sand?

Careless pressure does exactly that, which is why the wash uses a low-pressure rinse. When joints need pressure washing, we pair it with a full re-sand, never spray-and-go.

Do you seal pavers?

No. We prepare the surface, including the deep cleaning a sealer needs to bond, and refer sealing itself to a specialist.

Can you fix pavers that already rock?

No, resetting and releveling isn't our work. We restore depleted joints with the re-sand, then keep the surface on a schedule so it never reaches the shifting stage again.

Can you do the driveway and patio too?

Yes, and it's the efficient way. The crew and equipment are already set up, so adjacent driveways, walkways, and patios can join the same visit.
