    On the Roof

    Debris that stays up top never stays put. It holds moisture against the shingles, feeds the moss that damp debris always feeds, and every wind and rain moves more of it into the valleys and down into gutters you just paid to clean. That is why every visit starts on the roof, not in the trough.

    At the Guard

    We don't recommend gutter guards here, and we install none. Guards are built for leaves; the Northwest drops needles. They thread through mesh, mat into screens, and weave into a wet blanket over every design we service. The trough underneath may be spotless. The water can no longer reach it.

    In the Downspout

    The downspout is the narrowest link, and the one worth protecting. The Gutter Stick is a slitted PVC insert that sits in its opening: water drains through, and debris, even pine needles, stays up in the trough where it is cheap to clear instead of washing down where it is expensive.

    Under the Ground

    Your downspouts drain into buried lines, and those clog silently with sediment and roots. Clean gutters still overflow when the buried line is blocked; the water just backs up from the bottom, and the first sign is usually pooling at the foundation.

    We jet downspout lines, French drains, and surface drains, with a flow test before and after, so the line is proven clear end to end rather than just at the opening.

Good to know.

I have gutter guards, do I still need cleaning?

Yes. Guard tops plug with pine needles and overflow like open gutters. We clean them, lifting sections where the design allows, and when a system causes more upkeep than it prevents, we recommend removal.

My lot has no trees. Do I really need this?

At minimum once a year, or every two years on very low-debris lots. Sun sheds granules off asphalt shingles, and they wash into the gutters and compact into dense, hard-to-clear clogs.

Do you repair gutters too?

Minor ones: loose hangers, reseated sections, and small seam leaks, quoted on site during the clean. Re-pitching, section replacement, and new installation aren't included; bigger issues get photo-documented so you can handle them while they're small.

Does gutter cleaning cover the underground drain lines?

No. Cleaning clears the troughs and downspouts above grade. The buried lines are underground drainage jetting, its own service, and we recommend it when we see slow drainage or pooling.

Why does my roof wash warranty require gutter cleaning?

Each visit includes a roof inspection with early moss treated free, and it clears the damp debris moss regrows in. One to two cleanings a year, set by tree cover, keep the 3-year moss-free limited warranty active; downspout jetting isn't included unless you choose Premium.
